Brief Information
Born on November 16, 1953, in the village of Talish, Mardakert District, Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). In 1970, he graduated from the local high school. From 1970 to 1975, he studied at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute named after K. Marx, specializing in "Economics and Organization of the Engineering Industry." From 1979 to 1982, he entered and successfully completed full-time postgraduate studies at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, where he defended his Candidate's dissertation in 1983, obtaining the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the same specialty. From 1975 to 1979 and 1983 to 2003, he worked at the Yerevan Machine Tool Production Association (JSC), holding various positions: Shop Economist (1975-1979), Head of the Scientific and Technical Progress Bureau (1983-1984), Chief Economist (1985-1990), Deputy General Director for Economic and Production Affairs (1990-1997), Chairman of the Labour Council, and Vice President of the Joint Stock Company (1994-1997). From 1997 to 2003, he served as the General Director of the Yerevan Machine Tool Production Association. Between 1997 and 2003, the entire organizational and production-technology complex of the association was fully restored and reorganized, enabling the launch of serial production of a new metal-cutting machine, which saw high demand abroad. Since 2004, he has been teaching at the Russian-Armenian (Slavic) University, and since 2005, also at Yerevan State University. In 2011, he defended his Doctoral dissertation and received the degree of Doctor of Economic Sciences in his field. In 2016, he was awarded the title of Professor. He is the author of 74 scientific works, including two monographs and two educational-methodical manuals.
