Brief information (biography)
Davit Iskandaryan has about 10-year experience in financial sector and management consulting background. Starting his banking career in 2008 in HSBC Bank Armenia CJSC as a trade finance specialist Davit Iskandaryan could get practical and professional skills and knowledge and was promoted to higher positions in the same department. After Trade financing profession, he moved to Commercial Banking Department as Business Banking Specialist by using his trade financing knowledge and practice to deliver tailor-made lending solutions for SME clients. The next position in the same bank was the position of Junior Relationship manager in the Corporate Banking Department. In this position, Davit Iskandaryan was handling loan portfolio of corporate clients, which were utilizing many banking products, including trade financing, loan lines, capital loans, FEX transactions etc. By working in these positions Davit Iskandaryan was actively involved in financial and operational analysis and monitoring of the clients, by developing structured and need based lending solutions for them, including support in export/import transactions related negotiations with the clients’ existing and potential partners.
Davit Iskandaryan also has managerial experience in other commercial banks, Conversebank CJSC, where he held the position of Deputy Head of Commercial Lending Department. In this position Davit Iskandaryan managed 35 staff, including loan officers, supervisors and reporting specialists. In this position Mr. Iskandaryan was actively engaged in development of annual plans of the bank, upgrading of internal processes and procedures. Several internal instruments including sales mechanisms and internal analytic systems were implemented by his initiation and direct coordination.
Over 6 years Davit Iskandaryan was leading Dilijan Development Foundation, which has initiated city infrastructure development program in Armenia. Different project proposals, development programs and business plans were developed and evaluated by him, and negotiations and presentation were conducted for successful implementation of the program.
During the recent 10 years Mr. Iskandaryan was also involved in different management consulting and project management advisory assignments by delivering business planning, project management advisory and expertise, investments management and project management services. Over 120 business plans and strategic development programs were developed with his direct involvement, including the spheres of medical services, manufacturing, credit organizations, hotels, telecommunication companies, agricultural farming, greenhouses, logistic center, dairy processing plant, greenhouse, etc. He is a managing partner of PMA LLC, which is providing project management advisory and management consulting services.
In line with his professional background Mr. Iskandaryan has over 10 years of academic experience. The main teaching spheres include trainings in project management and banking. During the teaching experience, he was involved in different projects, relating to business planning and project management areas. Under his coordination many students initiated and implemented their start up project, where Davit’s role was mostly coaching of the project management related processes.
Since 2008 Davit Iskandaryan holds PhD degree in Economics. He is a Certified Management Consultant (Essentials) (Institute of Management Consulting, UK) since 2013 and PMP (Project Management Institute, USA) since 2016. Since 2017 Davit Iskandaryan holds the position of VP of Finance at PMI Armenia Chapter.
